A sex tape? WTF? Read the story here. It seems Akon is giving R Kelly a run for his money. I wonder what his (alleged) 3 wives have to say about this.

Also, this hypocritical preacher with an obvious political agenda Winston Cuffie has finally broken his silence on the issue. Yes, he’s the same idiot who is trying to ban Elton John from going to Tobago for the Tobago Jazz Festival because he is gay (Elton, not Cuffie, though that would make for interesting conversation).

And to top it off,  they are calling for a boycott of Zen, the nightclub where Akon’s dry-humping ensued. Seriously, a boycott? This issue is so big that you need a boycott? Now if you would call a boycott for all the other things that the owners of Zen have been accused of I would understand. But this crap did not deserve 3 articles in the same paper weeks after the incident occurred.

We as Trinbagonians have much more to worry about than some (sic)”dirty foreign artiste”(sic) dirty-dancing with a minor. Get your priorities in order will you.

Meh cyar take on Akon

I swear if I hear one more word about this Deena ‘Force-ripe’ Alleyne/ Fakon “scandal” I will scream.

So the child is 14 and a pastor’s daughter got into Zen nightclub to see Akon in concert and ended up sweeping Zen’s stage with her hair after a rousing dry-humping session with the “star” to “Don’t Matter”. People cheered and applauded her on and off stage but the minute the night was over, Deena was just another underage video ho- who happens to have a pastor for a father. I could tell you something though.. it sure as hell seemed to matter to a helluva lot of people.

Incriminating pictures (one in which her nipple is exposed in the middle of the action) and video were taken, the girl’s hi5 account stripped of its pictures (including some of her fresh out of the shower, nude to her shoulders). And it’s all over the news, TV and the internet. Fresh meat for the speculators and propaganda machines. She is made to apologize on television (she wore clothes this time) but by then it’s too late. People have already formed opinions and she will forever be asked if she would like another “Trip to Africa”.

Here’s my opinion:

WHO THE HELL CARES! She is 14 years old and has enough sense to know what she did was stupid, even if she didn’t she sure as hell knows now. All this bullshit about apologizing and lawsuits… steups. Why? No one forced her to go on stage. Fakon didn’t know she was a minor. And the bouncers at Zen should have carded her. Blame can go in all directions. But why waste time and effort. Why the hell should she apologize to the public? Did she do anything to us? What backlash are we getting except a little publicity? ( I am sure Zen will be packed as usual and Carnival next year will be full of foreigners looking for their own “Trips to Africa”) Correction: A little MORE publicity. Now we are just gay-bashers and whores. But hey! Any publicity is good publicity. Frankly, I think TIDCO should capitalize on it. Call it the 21st century’s Middle Passage: From Africa to the Indies.
